WGPC Delivers!

With flood waters receding along the Mississippi in the Midwest and rain falling in the Gulf, clean-up kits were never more needed to help remove the muck and mud left behind from flooding.

Here at WGPC, members gathered enough gloves, detergent, scouring pads, disinfectant, and bug repellent to fill 14 buckets on Sunday, July 7.

Friday morning, Sue Scott and Emmy McClelland delivered the goods to the Festival of Sharing in Columbia, Missouri.

“They said they were going out as fast as they got them in! Sue said. “They usually ship all over, but the need is so high in Missouri right now that people are just coming in and getting them before they can be shipped out!”

Sue said the congregation’s effort will make a difference.

“There is a huge need all over the country right now with our Midwestern flooding and now earthquakes and Tropical Storm Barry. The need is bigger than ever and every bit we all do not only helps directly but also reminds people that we are thinking of them,” she said.

Thanks to all those who made the effort to extend a helping hand to those who have been dealing with flooding!

We seek to live Christ's love, welcome all people and joyfully serve God.
