Coping with COVID-19

Friends in Christ, this page is where you can find all the current information, updates and resources about how we are living into our calling as God's people during this time.  No matter how far apart we may be in body, we are one in God's Spirit, and we still seek to live Christ's love, welcome all people, and joyfully serve God.

A Message from the Reopening Task Force

Dear friends,

We are aware some members of the congregation are concerned with our Session’s decision to delay reopening of in-person worship. The task force understands and appreciates the desire to be in communion with each other. So we wanted to share with you more about our decision making process.  Please click here to read our complete message.

New Ways to Gather During COVID-19

Worship Online

Worship services will be online only until further notice. Visit the Online Worship page to worship with us from home. Services are live-streamed Sunday mornings at 9:30am. After the conclusion of the service, a recording will be available to view any time.

Joys & Concerns

Want to share a joy or concern to be included in Sunday worship? Visit the Prayer Request page to submit your joys and concerns.  Please submit your requests by Thursday at 8am to be included in that week's service.

Education

Adult education classes are currently offered through Zoom meetings. Visit the Adult Education page to view classes and descriptions.

Children are participating in a take home ministry this year. Each month families will receive a Building Faith bag full of weekly Bible stories, prayers, activities, supplies, music and more! Contact Pastor Hannah for more information.

Youth fellowship will meet outside this fall. Celtics middle school fellowship meets in the Moody parking lot at 4:30pm and Agape high school fellowship meets in the main parking lot at 7:00pm on Sundays. Contact Pat Cleeland for more information.

Visit our new Holy Conversations podcast ministry page.  Here you can listen to Pastor Hannah and lead conversations with experts from our congregation about various aspects of parenting during this time of COVID-19.

Fellowship

Visit our Get Involved page to see multiple socially-distanced fellowship opportunities.

Create your own fellowship! Visit our online church directory to make your own connections within our church family.

Church Staff and Building

WGPC staff continue to serve! Some staff members are working from the church and some are working from home. All have email access and are checking their voicemail. Visit the Staff page for email addresses and phone numbers.

The building is closed for regular business. Some staff are usually in the building Tuesday through Thursday 9:00am-noon, but please call if you need to visit. If you ring the bell, please be patient in case someone has to come from the other side of the building to unlock the door.

Please be cognizant of social distancing guidelines. Hand sanitizer is available at the Hale Entrance.

Communication

Be sure to check your email for the Friday Flash! This is our best method of getting news and changes to you. If you aren't receiving the Friday Flash you can sign up here.

Did you know you can submit prayer requests online? Click here to send a prayer request to our pastors.  Prayer requests will be kept confidential.

Opportunities to Help (mostly) From Home

If you're finding yourself with some extra time on your hands and you're looking for ways to help others, here are a few ideas that have been curated by the Mission Commission and Advocacy Team. Feel free to let us know of other opportunities we can share.

Remember, we're all in this together. We can stay connected even as we are separated.

We seek to live Christ's love, welcome all people and joyfully serve God.
