Mission Outreach

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
Matthew 25:35-36

Reaching out to others, both locally and internationally, is a key aspect of what we are called to do as Christians. At Webster Groves Presbyterian, our mission is to help provide our neighbors a pathway out of poverty and toward opportunity and empowerment. We commit to support organizations that provide hope and opportunity to under-served communities, and we strive to connect with these partners through financial support, as well as hands-on involvement.

Our three key focus areas are Food and Housing Security, Education and Empowerment, and Stronger Community. Click below to learn more about each of these areas of focus.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance

As we are all aware, people around the world have experienced a tremendous amount of suffering from natural disasters throughout 2021. Along with our prayers, many people want to contribute financially to help where they can. The PC(USA)'s mission agency includes Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), which reaches out during times of crisis to offer support and resources. Wildfires, flooding, hurricanes, and earthquakes are all impacting our world right now, and PDA can connect our contributions with those in need following these disasters. If you would like more information on how to donated please visit pda.pcusa.org.

Welcoming our Afghan Neighbors

The Mission Commission and Advocacy Team are asking for monetary donations which will be used to purchase Schnucks and Aldi grocery cards, as well as Metro Transportation cards to be donated to our new neighbors through the International Institute. There are three easy ways to donate:

  1. Drop off a check at church. Please note "Afghan neighbors" on the memo line.
  2. Donate at wgpc.org/give. Choose "Special Gift" from the drop down and include "Afghan neighbors" in the memo field.
  3. Mail your donation to WGPC at 45 W. Lockwood Ave, St. Louis, MO 63119 attn: Afghan Neighbors

If you are interested in helping out in a more hands-on way, click here to volunteer. If you have any questions please contact Beth Kazlauskas or Julie Burchett.
