Freestyle Pool Pass Donations

Webster Groves is a great place to live, work, and play--and our community is striving to be consciously inclusive. To this end, the Alliance for Interracial Dignity, Webster Groves School District, and Webster Rock Hill Ministries have joined forces to create the new Freestyle Pool Pass. The Freestyle Pass will remove barriers to the community swimming pool by providing free daily swim passes for individuals and families that require financial assistance.
Webster Groves Presbyterian Church is supporting this initiative with a gift of $1,000, funded through the Mission Endowment Fund and the Gibbs Fund to Promote Racial Harmony and Justice. If you would like to contribute individually, you can do so this week by check made payable to Webster Rock Hill Ministries and mailed or brought to 111 East Waymire, Webster Groves, 63119. Checks must include “Freestyle Pass Fund” in the memo line. You may also donate online.
Questions? Message freestyleswimpass@gmail.com.
The history of access to the Webster Groves community pool has not always been so welcoming to families of color. In fact, the Webster Groves community pool chose to close for two years in the early 1950's rather than allow African American families the right to swim there. Click here to see a presentation from the Alliance for Interracial Dignity about the history of racism in Webster Groves as it related to pool access.

WGPC Tech Team Forming

The WGPC broadcast of our worship service has become an important part of church evangelism. "Evangelism" comes from the Greek word evangelion and means "good news". Thus "evangelism" simply means sharing the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We share the good news through our broadcasts and our broadcasts have allowed us to connect with members and non-members all over the country and in other continents. They also will continue to be a great option for Sunday morning worship.
We are looking for people interested in joining this new Tech Team to help with broadcasts of Sunday worship, weddings, concerts, funerals, etc. No knowledge necessary. Just an interest in learning our new video and audio technology. Seventh grade through retired folks are welcome. If you have questions about what this entails before you decide contact Pastor Ed.

Nursery Volunteers Needed

Important news from the Faith Formation Commission and the Reopening Task Force! Soon we would like to be able to offer nursery care for children under 3 during worship services, but in order to do that we need a patient, dependable, loving group of volunteers to hold those babies and toddlers! If you have any interest in this important mission, please contact Carrie Rao by email or at 314-856-5118 for more information. We are developing a protocol for the nursery in order to minimize everyone’s risk of illness, and all volunteers will be required to complete Safe Sanctuary training (online). Come on out and play with us!

We seek to live Christ's love, welcome all people and joyfully serve God.
