Get Involved

Gospel Medicine - An Antidote to Pandemic Isolation

Sundays at 4:00pm
Join us each Sunday at 4:00pm for a brief time of in-person conversation, meditation and prayer. Bring your mask and a chair and we will gather together - six feet apart! - on the parking lot in the shade of our beautiful church.

We will enrich our souls exploring the book Gospel Medicine, a book of sermons written by Barbara Brown Taylor, author of last year's all church read, Holy Envy. Each week Pastor Hannah will lead us in a conversation about one of Taylor's sermons. Each chapter in the book is a different sermon. Each one is concise, very meaningful and can be read in less than 30 minutes. Music and prayer will be a part of our time together.

The World's Religions: A Webinar from Interfaith Partnership of Greater St. Louis

Mondays at 7:00pm
For our fall Adult Education we will be joining this great opportunity to explore the religions of the world with Interfaith Partnership of Greater St. Louis. Dr. David Oughton, president of the Board of Interfaith Partnership and retired professor of the world's religions at Saint Louis University, will be teaching a weekly fifteen-part lecture series on the World's Religions via Zoom. The course is free and open to all, and participants are encouraged to come to as many or as few sessions as they are able. If you have any questions about this program, feel free to contact Interfaith Partnership.

Register here and let Pastor Hannah know once you've registered.

Lectionary Bible Study with the Pastors

Tuesdays at 7:00pm
Join a pastor on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm for a 45 minute Bible study on the text for the coming Sunday! No homework required, and we'll take a break every 3rd Tuesday. Check the Friday Flash for the Zoom link, or email Pastor Ed for more information.

Disciples Bible Study

Thursdays at 10:00am
We usually break for the summer, but we have decided to throw out tradition and just keep reading! We will be starting with Acts and then reading our way through the rest of the New Testament. Check the Friday Flash for the Zoom link or email Pastor Hannah to find out what book we're on each week or for more information.

Black Lives Matter Vigil on Lockwood

Friday Nights from 6:00-6:30pm
WGPC has been invited to join Peace UCC in their Friday Night Vigils from 6:00-6:30pm. We will spend a half hour standing in solidarity with our Black siblings recognizing that all lives will not matter until Black Lives Matter. Peace has invited churches up and down Lockwood to participate so we can have a bigger presence in the community. Please join us outside the WGPC red doors from 6:00-6:30pm on Fridays. Bring signs. Wear masks. We will be social distancing.
