Joy-filled Christmas Luncheon set the tone for the season

Fellowship Hall took on a festive air during the Christmas Luncheon Dec. 11.

It may have been Wednesday, but the tables were dressed to the nines, adorned in white linen, set with fine china and garnished with colorful centerpieces.

The event which has been held for several years is put on by the Reception Committee. Everyone from the church is invited and every year about 55 to 60 people come out to celebrate Christmas and enjoy a meal together, said Donna Bellows, chairwoman.

The holiday season of 2019 was no exception.

This year’s fare included chicken tetrazzini, fresh salad with blueberries, mandarin orange slices and toasted pecans, bread with butter and ice cream for dessert. Each person at the table also received a “reindeer” bag of treats to take home.

The Fellowship was sweet. The entertainment was musical with the Joyful Notes a senior choir filling the afternoon with holiday cheer and familiar Christmas tunes everyone could sing.

Thanks to all those who worked so hard to provide a delicious meal and a heavenly afternoon for church members and staff.

We seek to live Christ's love, welcome all people and joyfully serve God.
